Perth Observatory also provides detailed astronomy outreach experiences by conducting astronomy expeditions to isolated and unique sites around Western Australia, and sometimes beyond. In order to provide this these experiences the Observatory often times partners with Landscope Expeditions.

LANDSCOPE Expeditions, the award winning nature-based scientific research program offers several unique opportunities each year to join scientists in the pursuit of biodiversity conservation. Since its inception in 1992, LANDSCOPE Expeditions has conducted 74 Expeditions to all corners of Western Australia. The program is offered by the Department of Environment and Conservation in association with UWA Extension, a department the University of Western Australia.

You don't have to be a scientist to join - LANDSCOPE Expeditions are available to anyone over the age of 13. You will return with a broader understanding of the natural world and the reward of knowing that you have contributed to pioneering studies in remote locations. Your valuable contribution of time, funds and personnel make the research possible, in fact many important projects would simply not go ahead without the communities assistance. Participants funding helps support nature conservation research across the state.
