Perth Observatory maintains WA's only dedicated astronomy museum.
On show are instruments from the Old Perth Observatory, a display of meteorites (on loan from the WA Museum), the astronomical paintings by the late Peter Jekabsons, and various astronomy displays.
Our museum is open to the public from 9am to 4pm workdays, except during guided tours. In order to gain access to the museum all visitors must report to the main office on arrival.
Admission Fee: gold coin donation.
The museum is also featured in our daytime guided tours. There is no additional charge for access whilst on a guided tour.
This resource addresses many CURRICULUM FRAMEWORK Science Learning Outcomes, for all learning development phases, associated with the 'Earth And Beyond' concept. In particular it is most relevant to the historical development of astronomy.
