Star Adoption Program
Looking for that gift for someone who has everything? Want a novel way of saying "I love you" on Valentine's Day? Thinking of a special way to remember a loved one?
Why not adopt a star in their name and at the same time contribute to the Perth Observatory's education, outreach and research programs? You have the choice of constellation and all our stars are visible through binoculars, or if you wish, we can arrange the adoption of a star visible to the unaided eye.

Your adoption package will include:

Adoption certificate - signed by the Government Astronomer;

Detailed star map showing you the location of your star;

A planisphere (starwheel) with your adopted star marked on it;

A fact sheet about your adopted star; and

A pass for a night visit for you and three guests to view your star at the Perth Observatory through one of our telescopes.

Also, your contribution will be recognised on our "Star Adoption Wall", and will be recorded forever in the Observatory's and State archives.

NOTE: It is not possible to purchase a star.
